Relationship Therapy
I see both couples and individuals who are experiencing difficulty in relationships. This work ranges from pre-marital through to endings.
The negotiation of relationships is constantly under review as life events and stages impact a couples dynamic. I design a bespoke approach for each couple.
I also specialise in high-conflict couples and relationships where high-functioning autism /ADHD and co-morbid conditions are affecting the couple dynamic.
I am unusual in this field having the training of a psychotherapist and yet specialising in a more coach like approach to these. I present seminars , talks and trainings on the emerging field of neuro-diversity within couple relationships.
Karen’s Background
I have been working with relationships for twenty years and have developed a model that begins with an initial consultation, walks through a relevant exploration of the past, includes some practical exercises, examines current behavioural patterns and aims to incorporate new learning into the current couples dynamic.
Working with Karen
I create a new programme with every couple. At the initial session we decide together what might work best and design a programme and attendance diary that is convenient and effective.
Some couples may work weekly, where others may decide to do fortnightly or courses of 6 sessions and a review.
The key is to find the right approach for each couple.
